Visiting Costa Rica Surf Camp During Covid
December 14, 2020
Costa Rica and Covid
Update: 11/11/22 Costa Rica has since lifted all covid related restrictions.
On November 1st, Costa Rica reopened their borders to the entire world. After a long shut down (all the way back in March) due to Covid, this was the news we were waiting to here! We have been happy to welcome back visitors from Europe, United States and Canada.
You no longer need a negative Covid test to enter Costa Rica. You are required to purchase travel insurance (like Trawick) and fill out a health pass within 48 hours of your arrival (Health pass).
Once here mask wearing is required in all businesses, public and private transportation and in all other situations where social distancing is not possible. Businesses must close at 10PM.
Luckily, most things are outside in Costa Rica. We are blessed with all open air restaurants and more outdoor activities than you can count. At Costa Rica Surf Camp, our 2 student per instructor ratio policy makes socially distancing something we pretty much already have been practicing.
Here are the safety protocols we are taking:
- Masks required be worn in surf shop, surf shuttle, airport transfers
- Safety explanations are conducted outside with social distancing
- Our instructors wear masks up until the water
- Hand sanitizers and sinks and soap available at our surf shop
- We sanitized the surf equipment after every use
- We are running our surf lessons at 50% of our capacity
- If you have rented a car and we are traveling to another beach to surf, we recommend you follow us in your own car
- We are monitering daily the health of our employees
Since we spend all our days outside, Costa Rica is the perfect place to visit during Covid. Come visit for some vitamin-sea and enjoy our summer without half the crowd.
